NEW for 2012: DERBY Within a DERBY Division This year, the Wayne Eventing Derby has added a new division, the Derby Within A Derby. It will be held on Sunday, April 15 at the same time as the final jumping phase of the regular Eventing Derby. The competition will feature a super simple dressage type test followed immediately by 4 or 5 low, non-threatening jumps. It will be judged on performance, willingness, manners, and suitability as a potential eventer. This Division is open only to horses who have never competed in anything, even a home school show, and it is designed to provide a taste of competing without the stress of a full fledged two or three phase event. The competition will take place in one of the side arenas at Lamplight which will give horses a feel of the “big time” atmosphere that Lamplight is famous for without having to deal with the potentially intimidating Grand Prix arena where the regular Derby runs. Entry fee for the Division is $40.00. There will be stabling available for one day if needed at a cost of $25. $5.00 of each entry will be an add back that will go into a “pot” for the winner. (Note – if horses entered in this division will be on grounds for the whole weekend, they must pay stabling of $100.) |
